This past week we had a visit from our friend, Adjmal. He flew in from Denmark and after an over 3 hour interrogation by good-ole Homeland Security he was let into our fine city of Seattle.
The weather was perfect for the duration of his stay with us and we managed to fit in many activities in and around our work weeks. Highlights include: biking, hiking and kayaking, eating and drinking (of course), and a Monday night Mariners game.
Biking in Fremont.
Hiking at 8 Mile Lake in Cascade Mountain range in northeastern Washington.
Kayaking in Lake Union Bay.
Sushi and Happy Hour at Liberty's.
Mariner's Baseball Game.

3 hour interrogation? You gotta be kiddin me. The pictures look beautiful. I didnt realize there was so much outdoor activity that one could embark on in Seattle. You look happy. I still cant believe you are married. Its good to see you out in the sun and enjoying the best Seattle has to offer.
yes -the interrogation was ridiculous. Adjmal was born in Afghanistan and apparently that sets off alarm bells (still!). poor guy...
they went through his journals/notebooks which are mainly written in Danish and found the most trivial of things (like his mother's eggplant recipe) suspicious.
oh and there is sooo much outdoor activity around Seattle. it is great to have both nature and city life so accessible.
